AIM is excited and pleased to announce the AIM Expo, the inaugural AIDC industry conference and exhibition to be held November 2-3, 2010 in Chicago, IL. The AIM Expo will establish an industry trade show for all vendors in the AIDC marketplace dedicated to promoting AIM solutions -- Auto ID and Mobile IT. It's new, it's innovative and it is yours!
For the first time since SCAN-TECH, AIM is tapping into our nearly 40 years of industry expertise in these fields to bring a one-of-a-kind conference and exhibition to market. The AIM Expo will provide an annual live event where bar code, RFID, enterprise mobile computing and related technology solutions can be presented, in a comprehensive manner, for end users and channel partners to see the latest solutions and to understand the current and potential applications of AIDC technologies in business process solutions.

UID Suppliers Alliance Reaches Out to Legislators
Adoption of UID and awareness of the value added by the requirements continues to gain momentum thanks to the efforts of the AIM North America (NA) UID Supplier Alliance (USA). This group intends to bolster that momentum in Washington, DC and at district offices across the country where they will be gathering for grassroots training, briefings on UID issues, and to meet with Congressional and Senate offices in cooperation with The Normandy Group, a well-respected Washington, DC based government relations firm recently hired by the committee.
The USA Committee includes many of the leading providers of UID and other automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) solutions. Collectively these members have implemented hundreds of successful UID marking and data management systems, and have demonstrated how the systems benefit maintenance, inventory, production and traceability operations for the military and contractors alike.

AIM Members Embarked on FDA UDI Inaugural Event
Over 200 industry representatives gathered in Orlando, FL, last month for the inaugural UDI Conference. The event comprised of two days of conference sessions, networking and exhibits was centered around the impending FDA Unique Device Identification (UDI) Rule which is due to be released in 2010.
AIM members participated in a panel on Technology Options Enabling UDI which surveyed technology solutions, including linear bar code, 2D bar code, direct part marking (DPM), and radio frequency identification (RFID).
"AIM was pleased to be included on the program for this inaugural event," stated Dan Mullen, AIM President. “Our members provided insight into the types of technologies available for use in healthcare settings for unique device identification."
